On December 2, 2004, the Gloria Group successfully closed the transaction whereby the Compañía Regional de Lácteos y Alimentos de Colombia S.A., a subsidiary of José Rodrìguez Banda S.A. acquired 100% of the shares of stock of the Colombian company Algarra S.A.. It currently ranks fourth among the dairy brands in the City of Bogotá.

The arrival in this important Colombian market was a new and significant milestone in the regional growth strategy of the Gloria Group adding to its already significant presence in the markets of Bolivia, Ecuador, Puerto Rico-United States and Peru.

Algarra S.A. was incorporated in February 1955, being the oldest milk processing and selling company in the Department of Cundinamarca, supplying the entire Sabana region of Bogotá.

It processes pasteurized milk packed in bags and long life, UHT-packed milk in all its forms, whole milk, low-fat milk, skimmed milk, lactose-free, oatmeal-enriched, under the Algarra brand; whole and low-fat pasteurized milk under De la Finca brand, Cremax butter, Cremax and De la Finca UHT-packed and pasteurized milk cream and Tampico juices under license agreement.
