| Fresh
milk collection
| Fresh
milk collection is one of Gloria S.A. most
important activities within a meticulous
production chain, especially since the increase
in the collection level to over one thousand
metric tons of milk per day, an activity
which is performed from Tacna, in the southern
end of Peru, to Chiclayo and Cajamarca in
the north.
|
The
company has collection centers in each area,
promoting a multiplying effect, which has
been reflected in the growth and development
of these regions. The purpose of this daily
activity goes beyond just collecting milk
from cattlemen, processing the milk and
forwarding it to the market with added value;
it is a secure business, which has contributed
to help cattlemen trust that Gloria S.A.
will buy their entire production, paying
them on time and on a regular basis.
Additionally, Gloria S.A. has field advisors
focusing on forage, feeding, genetics
and veterinary matters, and who visit
the farmers at a pre-arranged frequency;
this occurs as part of a carefully planned
technical support policy. Also, agreements
have been established with service firms
and businesses who offer products to the
cattlemen, providing certain advantages
such as the timely availability of the
product or service, purchases on credit
without surcharges, competitive prices,
and training. The payment for such benefits
is done through semi-monthly deductions
from the milk payments made by Gloria
S.A.

|
Gloria S.A. is
also active in the training of cattlemen and it
works in areas associated with field development
with entities from the United States, support
that will be yielding its fruits in the future.
There is
a well-structured plan in rural areas for the
promotion and development of productive activities,
in order to substitute imports. The plan helps
save on foreign currency expenditures and contributes
to creating jobs in the field, providing the opportunity
for incomes above the poverty level.
