On May 17, 2005 the Gloria Group ads closure to a successful transaction in which through its subsidiary Gloriaecuador S.A acquires 75% share of stock of Lechera Andina S.A. from Ecuador, highlighting the Group's regional growth strategy by entering the ecuatorian market.

Lechera Andina S.A -LEANSA- was founded 21 years ago, having the industrial plant in the Chillos valley, 17.5 km south of the capital and its commercial headquarters in Quito. The company produces and commercializes its own brands such as Andina, Del Establo, Kappery and Freskito with products like pasteurized milk, yogurt, ice creams and milk cream.

LEANSA started the fabrication and commercialization of bagged milk UHT long life in all of its varieties under the brand Andina, and was now able of enter and compete in other markets and to expand its geographic coverage, currently distributing throughout the entire ecuatorian territory. At the moment LEANSA also commercializes yogurt under the brands Andina and Pura Vida and juices under Aruba.
